The Bible makes it clear that love is at the very heart of who God is. First John 4:8 says, “God is love.” This means that true love begins with Him. His love is patient, gracious, forgiving, and unchanging. The greatest expression of God’s love is found in Jesus Christ, who gave His life for us.

The Bible also teaches that love should be the mark of every believer. Jesus said that the greatest commandments are to love God and to love others. Love is more than words—it is seen in how we serve, forgive, encourage, and care for one another.

First Corinthians 13 gives us a beautiful picture of what love looks like: patient, kind, not selfish, not easily angered, and rooted in truth. In a world where love is often misunderstood, the Bible reminds us that godly love is sacrificial, pure, and powerful. When we walk in love, we reflect the character of Christ.
